Imagine if your freedom had been yours all along, but no one told you.

That is part of the story of Juneteenth.

On June 19, 1865, thousands of enslaved African Americans in Texas finally learned they were free—more than two years after freedom had legally been declared. Juneteenth is a day to honor their joy, resilience, and hope in the face of unimaginable injustice.

It reminds us that freedom is precious, that dignity belongs to every person, and that the promise of equality is strongest when it reaches everyone. Today, Juneteenth is both a celebration of liberation and a moment to reflect on the courage of those who endured, persevered, and helped shape a better future for generations to come. ❤️🖤💚
