Poem 22 of The 360 Poem Challenge

‘Sad’

By Rayah Sahib

Sad
You wanna keep the kids away
From they dad
Fronting like you happy
You sad
Can’t put the children first
Before your anger
We didn’t make it
Can’t fake love and we friend’s acting stranger
It’s a headbanger
Missing they first steps
And first words
Can’t get that time back
You acting angry bird
Daughter don’t even know me
Won’t even hold me
Yet you living
Smiling like you don’t even owe me
An apology for the time missed
Birthdays and Christmas
You the grinch stealing gifts
Did you tell the children that?
Naw, you telling them daddy ain’t ish
So They grew up with rifts
Chip on they shoulder
Hearts colder
My children thinking daddy didn’t move boulders
To make they holidays
A little less colder
Christmas ain’t Christmasing
It further the divide for more distancing
Between my seeds and me
I wouldn’t wish this type of hate on my worst enemy
Maybe that’s why the Bible say
Hell has no fury like a women scorned
But why take it out on the children
They didn’t asked to be born
