Family is everything.

That’s my biggest takeaway from last week’s event, World Waves 🌍 🌊
 
Growing up I didn’t feel understood. I still don’t know if I’m always understood but I do feel supported.
 
I know that I’m very lucky to have so much support and that’s not everyone’s reality. I want every space I create to feel like family. I want you to know that we have your back and we want to see you win. I want the love to be felt, seen and heard.

My parents are in their 70s and they show up, ask questions and try to understand what we do eventhough it’s all very new to them.
 
My sister flew out from New York for less than 24 hours, my sister drove two hours to be there and my sister in law showed up after working a 12 hour shift

My brother has been my creative partner ever since he was a baby and we will always create together. Fun fact: He’s actually 7 years younger than me. I know, wild, right?
 
And of course, who holds me down, brainstorms wild ideas with me and is collaborating on the coolest creative project ever, our life together. We are building the family business and creative community we wish we had growing up.
 
Thank you to all of our cousins that were able to be there physically and all of our family that I know is praying for us constantly.
 
I promise you that the next generation is going to know they can do anything they want and will have a squad that will hold them, push them and be there for them.  No matter what.

I’m SO excited to announce my first showcase of the creatives I’ve been supporting with World Waves on October 28th 🌍 🌊

Every single one of them tap into culture in their own unique way and it’s been an honor to work them to share and express creatively. Showing up for your creative work is a healing journey and we are doing this together. We are all creatives and these amazing people are examples of what is possible with commitment, putting in the work and vulnerably sharing.

This is about community and I can’t wait to see you all! Tickets will be available at the end of the week!
