Hi Everyone - We have finished shooting on my feature length film The Advocate and are working on raising finishing funds. Thanks so much to everyone who has donated so far. The original push we did 4 years ago raised enough to finish shooting, cut a 90 minute rough cut and showcase (thanks to Captain and the Fox's editor extraordinaire Rachel Webster). Now we need to raise enough to complete the final edit and release the film. Whatever you donate gets us closer to completing the film. I believe strongly that this story is more relevant then ever. The work that Advocates do all over the world is so fundamental to holding power accountable. This film shows what it is like for several Advocates in Chicago, but it can be anywhere that there is injustice.

I will be going Live tomorrow with one of the main characters Jedidiah Brown to discuss the progress and the film.

Also -right now anyone who gives more than $500 will receive a signed 11 x 14 print from the film.

Please give and reach out to me with any questions.

If You Lived Here You’d Be Home Now She asked me what’s that Dad? I had picked this little gem off the ground- such a far cry from the ‘Marlboro Man’ of my youth. ‘It’s a heart ❤️ Olivia.’ I said. ‘A heart ?’ she replied and I explained how the heart gives us life. Of course, tht brought me back to my dad drawing diagrams of the heart on lined poet at dinner - explains the different chambers and the valves and arteries. And every image seems to bring some association with the past. Lately she’s been talking about the dangers of smoke and it reminds me of my mom’s story of Dad saying he wouldn’t push her wheelchair when she wouldn’t quit smoking all those years ago when they were still young. Today she called and reported that my brother Mike was pushing her wheelchair. No one gets out alive I suppose but how we live while we are here is up to us.

If You Lived Here You’d Be Home Now in the deep…

If You Lived Here You’d Be Home Now He was watching the door as I dropped off my crutches and boot from when I broke my ankle in 2020. It was time to donate then. He said I don’t sound like I’m from around here. I said no from Chicago and Boston. He started to take off his shirt and showed me his Chicago Blackhawk tattoos. He was from New Brunswick but moved out here years ago. He loves baseball and hockey and of course chicago. Home shifts within us all.
