It was a beautiful Saturday evening in the sun π
We are back at it again, building the roof for this deck. It's all smiles knowing that this polycarbonate roof is going to extend the seasonal use for our client.
Would you believe that this deck was 25β x 25β?! π
Complete with a floating bench and its own grill section; this space was used for some beautiful family get-togethers and ceremonies.
A deck like this would cost anywhere between $25,000-$47,000, depending on size and accessories.
All things considered, with labor and material always increasing year after year, itβs definitely a steel (pun intended). A deck like this can add $100,000 in property value after 10 years.
Your third tag wants to hang out on the deck with you.

My builder guy came to me and said, "You'll never guess what I found boss man!"
I couldn't believe my eyes either π!
The bottom of this hand railing rusted through and you could literally see my hand on the other side.
Why did this happen? π§
There was many factors at play here from maintenance to weather cycles but it really comes down to one thing.
π¦ Water exposure π§
Metal + Water x Time = Rust and that spells trouble for your property.
Needless to say, we fixed the railing, removed the rust, primed and painted with a rust inhibiting paint and it was good as new!

π΅π³οΈ Donβt Fall Through That! ποΈ
Doctor said that falling from the second floor onto a medal landing was bad for my health but not to worry - weβre professionals!
π If you look closely you can see that last bits of rust we needed to remove.
π Water accumulating near or on your property is no bueno! Especially rust!
To fix this you need to grind the rust off, apply a water blocking coat of paint then paint the desired color you want. In this case, the client wanted black.

Itβs decking season! π Could you guess what this client asked us to do?
π He wanted us to reset his second floor deck due to water issues!
We laid down some new plywood and gave this floor a new aggressive pitch. π
Needless to say water and your property is what we like to call, no bueno ππ½
