i wrote this right after coming from the ER visit that started this new chapter in my life. writing this song made me realize how even thru my own personal low point, sometimes, everybody has a moment where they just wanna be anywhere but here. maybe y’all can relate 🫶🏾🙏🏾

heyyooo, it’s a been minute, hasn’t it?

about half a year has went by since my last release (that’s basically a decade if we being real 🤧). to be completely honest with you all, this past year has been extremely taxing. with work, personal relationships, and everything in between—it really left me in the gulag of my most self-destructive thoughts. i started to isolate myself from my inner circle, closed off opportunities brought my way, and walked down a hopeless path. i ended up thinking that it would’ve been best to just stop making music all-together, the one thing that has consistently brought me some sort of fulfillment. with that mindset, i lost all sense of purpose.

which brings us to today! i’ve crawled out of the proverbial hole that housed my inner demons and told them to f*ck off! (with some help from my therapist lol) i got wrapped up in the idea of trying to make music for the masses (you guys 🫶🏾) and not making music for me anymore. and this last album (“callmejimme”, produced by ​Smiles&Miles) that was released was the complete antithesis of that sentiment. so i’m returning back to those roots.
