In LATAM and the Caribbean, nearly 350,000 tons of food are wasted every day while almost 42 million people in the region are undernourished and go hungry.
To combat this trend, the Inter-American Development Bank and key businesses in the area are working together by providing finance to innovative projects and products, advocating for policies that produce incentives to reduce food waste, generating data to better understand the issue better, and promoting new habits in every aspect of the food life cycle.*
