Across the communities we serve, children are gathering to read, explore stories, and learn together in safe, welcoming spaces. With support from facilitators, these moments are building confidence, sparking curiosity, and strengthening early literacy skills.

What started as a launch is becoming a movement, one where children aren’t just learning to read, but are beginning to enjoy and seek out books.

📚 Fun Fact: In Uganda, children in lower primary (P1–P3) first learn to read in a language they already speak and understand. This approach helps them build confidence and grasp sounds and meaning more quickly, creating a strong foundation before they transition to English. ✨

At Pangea, we support this journey by creating storybooks in local languages, as well as bilingual editions that gently help children move from familiar words to new ones.
