tonight is april’s full pink moon 🌕🌿🌷🦢🪷✨
the first full moon of spring, the pink moon gets its name from moss phlox, whose small pink flowers are among first wildflowers to bloom in spring in north america. this full moon marks the sure arrival of spring, and the return of life and growth to the earth after a long winter of sleep. the pink moon symbolizes renewal, rebirth, and softly opening up our hearts🌱
i was inspired by last year’s pink moon and the blossoming of spring to create this gouache collage- the dragonflies beginning to wake, the tulips sprouting up from beneath the mud, the swans flying back home 🌦️🌸🌾🪺🪴
i hope you all get to glimpse the full moon and spot a flower in bloom today, wherever you are 💖

looking back on my year of art in 2025…and what a year it has been!💖
as my fourth year as a full time artist comes to a close, i’m taking a moment to pause and reflect on what worked well and what didn’t- and to celebrate all of the wins of the year!
thank you all for helping make 2025 my best year of my art business so far! this year was definitely challenging in so many ways- i really struggled with adhd and burnout and the load of running a business on my own this year. i didn’t get to paint as much as i would have liked.
but it was also amazing in so many ways too! over 1000 of you purchased my art this year which makes my little heart so so so happy. my income doubled from 2024 to 2025! i am so grateful for each and every one of you who purchased my art this year, took a painting workshop, or stopped by at a market to say hello. truly one of the best parts of the job is getting to meet all of you and getting to see all of the wonderful and whimsical people my art ends up with 🌸
love you all and here’s to another year filled with art and light and friends!🦢

peaks of otter // blue ridge mountains ⛰️🌿
this piece is inspired by one of my favorite overlooks on the blue ridge parkway in virginia. here is a fun fact: i am terrified of driving (i have never driven a car in chicago and i have no intention of doing so!!!) but the blue ridge parkway is the one place in the world where i actually love to go for a drive. there’s just nothing like rolling the windows down on a warm summer day in appalachia, putting on a sweet mix cd, and just driving with no destination, no goal but to move forwards on the blue ridge parkway and watching as the rolling green mountains and fields and creeks and valleys unfold before your eyes.
gouache on paper, this painting will be available this weekend at the other art fair 🦋
