This month urban sketchers went to the University of Michigan Museum of Art and wow, how much fun was that! I was drawn to this room with its bold colors and the beautiful cloud. ❤️

I’m enjoying trying my hand at urban sketching! So different than mountains but considering the outdoors is just varying shades of dull brown right now, I’ll take some artificial pops of color! Plus it brings me back to my days as an interior design student, hand drafting and rendering. Granted my perspective needs some work now…

I have started going to our local urban sketchers meetings and am really enjoying connecting with fellow artists. I snagged a spot next to the window on the second floor of the Dexter Library to paint the train tracks and river walk.

Went to my first Urban Sketchers of Ann Arbor second Saturday meeting despite all the snow we received last night. It was really fun sketching the beautiful Union Rec, especially next to their cozy fireplace!

Nothing like a long hike and ending it by finding a secluded spot by the lake to paint.
