New Year and New designs.

A sweet sweet friend of mine has a birthday in May. Every year her mother in love gives her the first Magnolia bloom off of her tree. For years she has shared the story, and pictures of her bloom. It’s a tale I look forward to every year and for me, this little gift is the gentle reminder Spring is here. I was so moved by the story of the Magnolia for a lot of reasons. The love, persistence, the tradition, the constant, the simplicity, and of course the beauty. Sometimes the biggest things in life are really just the smallest things. So in honor of someone so special to me, and the story that I have looked forward to year after year, I will be selling Magnolias in my upcoming shows. Today I got to gift my very first creations to those inspired by this story. Excited to now share them with you all ❤️

High Tiders (Eastern NC locals would pronounce it as “Hoi Toiders”) provided me these beautiful shells from their oyster farm. Where I come from growing oysters is business. It’s a way to feed your family, much like ranchers here in Texas. And these shells are absolutely stunning! 😍 The dark spot on an oyster shell is commonly referred to as a muscle scar. It is where the oyster attaches to the shell. The reason it’s so dark is because of melanin, the darker the spot the stronger the shell ❤️
