Forlorn Harbor art alert.

I've been posting Artisticknack's "horror posters" of the movie series that never was, Forlorn Harbor. FH is the movie that my book of the same name revolves around. He and I will have one last poster for the book's launch. For now, enjoy this collage (ideas from my book, his skill bringing it to life).

My novel, Forlorn Harbor, is coming May 26, and I’m going to recreate my main character, Martina, using different tools. Today, I’ve made a miniature of her using HeroForge.

Martina Ramirez is a shy high school senior who is convinced to help break into a movie theater. Unfortunately, the theater her schoolmates have chosen to break into has a mind of its own. Martina’s the lookout, though. No harm should come to her, right?

Forlorn Harbor has different ideas.

Artisticknack and I will be at Halfway to Halloween just outside Ann Arbor, Michigan today. This is an amazing show for genre fans. I’ll be selling advanced copies of my brand new novel, Forlorn Harbor. Come out and see us. We’ll have more treats (literally) than tricks.

Artisticknack and I will be attending Halfway to Halloween in the Ann Arbor, MI area on Saturday, May 9. This event will feature vendors, a hearse show, haunted houses, and plenty of food trucks. This is my third year, and if you’re a Halloween fan, you don’t want to miss it.

I will have advanced copies of my soon-to-be-published novel, Forlorn Harbor, available. My friend, Artisticknack, has drawn promotional posters for Forlorn Harbor, the “film that never was.” He will have other prints, and I will have other books as well. If you love horror (and fantasy & scifi, too), please stop by, talk to us, and shop.

I can’t wait for this event!

Up The Down Beanstalk – A Reflection 05/02/2026

This wonderful anthology was published yesterday with stories by authors Pam Halter, author/editor, Stoney M. Setzer, Kathleen Bird, Jessica Tanner Author, Michelle Levigne, Author and Editor, and yours truly. While I don’t have a review of the offering, I do have a “reflection” blog post.

Up The Down Beanstalk – A Reflection Full disclosure: I have a short story in this anthology. As such, this will be a reflection on the other stories, not a review. Ye Olde Dragon is at it again with another fairy tale. This time it’s…

Release Day for the Jack-and-the-Beanstalk-inspired anthology. Here's the first line for my story. I hope you check it out!

This story of a mischievious Jack and an honest Giant will make you rethink the Jack & the Beanstalk fairy tale. In other news, the anthology releases tomorrow!!

This high fantasy retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk is partially from the viewpoint of the Golden Goose. Action, intrigue, and magic fill this wonderful rendition of the famous fairy tale.

Not all giants must be tall. A “giant” may also may mean someone who is legendary. This is the type of giant in Deborah Cullins-Smith’s chilling entry in this Jack and Beanstalk anthology.
