Positive reinforcement and constructive feedback from professionals carries a great deal of weight. We analyze and evaluate young players and we provide them with a detailed report that gives them a blueprint for future success. We also set aside time to conduct a quality Q&A session for the parents.
💯💥Attention young ballplayers 💥💯
I want you to stop and think about this question: Do you love playing the game of baseball?
If you answered yes, then answer this question: Have you completely embraced your process (basically committing to a focused training program)?
Some of us have a love/hate relationship with baseball ⚾️ 😡, but in order to maximize our ability, we must also fall in love with 🧰🛠 The Process 😳⚾️🏋️♂️🏊♂️🧘♀️... Some of you are too young to understand this, but love can produce feelings of euphoria, pain, uncertainty, doubt, excitement, and fulfillment... 😀😩😐🤭🤠🙏
By wholeheartedly embracing your process, you will inevitably experience the aforementioned emotions (along with several others); but you will also begin moving with more of a confident baseball swagger 😉...
So take a moment and act as if we are five years into the future. You are the result of your present actions. Are you giving your best effort? Is your future self frustrated with your present self or is Mr. Future giving you the thumbs up 👍.
Time is a precious commodity ⌛️. Let’s continue to make the proper choices, on and off the diamond. Our present actions will eventually reconnect with us and we’ll have a chance to assess our past moments. Did I passionately work smart enough?
It takes love, dedication, determination, and guidance... Let’s get to work!

Attention: Parents of enthusiastic baseball players... Please consider investing in private lessons... sending them to a fall or winter camp... or head to YouTube and sift through free content and piece together a developmental program. The YouTube route takes a bit longer, but it is a solid secondary option, especially when funds are tight.
This marked my 22nd year as a professional baseball scout. If I were to give a young player a couple of key nuggets, they would be the following:
1. Embrace flexibility, balance, and core training (especially important for pitchers)
2. Increase your hand strength or grip strength. Many aspects of the game of baseball are governed by your fingertips & hands. *Myth Buster - debunk me on this one... but be sure to have a gripper in your hand, so you can get stronger as you research a few names: Henry Aaron, George Foster, and Dick Allen (old school strength)...
3. Pitchers, save up and locate a trainer who will devise a tailored program that’s specifically designed to work with your body mechanics. We must think ‘preventative maintenance’... (proper mechanics, prime stamina, and balance & flexibility)
*Hitters, it’s imperative that you begin constructing a swing that incorporates the key components found in most upper level strokes. This means that you must save up for lessons. Even two sessions are better than none. You need to begin laying the foundation ASAP. I mean as early as age six 😳...
Parents, I’m very adamant about obtaining the services of a private instructor (if the budget allows). Baseball is a game of failure and it is extremely hard to function within this construct if your confidence is low. Trainers teach the game, but they also help to boost the confidence of your young player... That’s a wrap for now. I’ve included a link to some quality defensive videos.
