The MIT Rocket Team embarks on various endeavours related to rocketry, from competing in the collegiate space race to developing our own liquid propulsion engine. We tackle every part of every system of the rocket, from methane-oxygen bipropellant engines, to custom designed tight packing, low-mass parachutes. We're currently developing a rover to fly in our rocket at the Spaceport America Cup. In

Beyond excited to announce we just wrapped up Project Phoenix with a very successful launch at FAR in the Mojave Desert this past weekend! We had ignition in both stages and our second stage reached a maximum altitude of 32,000ft. Despite a parachute failure in the booster, both stages were recovered fully intact, besides one fin that broke upon landing. This is the most successful two-stage rocket the MIT rocket team has ever launched!!! We're so so proud of this incredible team of (almost 100!) people and can't wait to begin working on Project Medusa, which is planned to reach 150,000 ft! Ad Astra! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿš€๐Ÿš€

From now until 11:59 PM ET tonight, help support one of our sponsors, MIT Edgerton Center, as they participate in the MIT 24-Hour Challenge. Together, we can offer greater support to MIT students and teams who work to build electric race cars, driverless vehicles, and rockets that fly to space! The Edgerton Center helps these engineering goals become a reality and strongly believes that students of all ages can experience the satisfaction of project-based learning.

If at least 150 individuals donate to the Edgerton Center (it can be as little as $5) within this 24-hour period, the Harvey family will generously donate $25k to the Edgerton Center. It's happening now, so spread the word!
