I am thrilled to announce that UX Architecture Studio and its partners—KP Design Studio and Epstein Joslin + Picardy Architects Inc—have been shortlisted for the Fred Rouse Center for Arts and Community Healing. Deeply moved by Transform 1012 N. Main Street - Fort Worth's mission of restorative justice, our alliance of small practices is united in our conviction that Architecture is a political act. Reclaiming this former Ku Klux Klan auditorium and cultivating its new identity as a place of resilience and liberation will be an instigator for change that will extend far beyond the community.
Alongside my inspiring team, I am headed back home to for the Design Week residency to listen, learn, and explore a new vision for 1012 Main Street as a place of activism, empowerment, renewal, and reimagination. We can’t wait to take a deep dive into the project and meet the community it will serve.
