Tried a new approach to shade this Independence Day Weekend. Used a MOON Brand awning with the Airstream.
Instead of deploying the standard awning we attached the Moon awning to the side of the trailer with soft yet very powerful 3.5” suction cups. The deployment was fairly easy for one person, easier with two. The suction cups attached to one window while the rear suction cup was placed near the back door.
Kit fits in a nice compact bag along with all the hardware. Performance wise the awning withstood blustery on shore beach winds. With the support legs and robust anchors the stability of the awning was solid. No fear of walking into the awning arms with this set up.
The Moon awning is a go to for the Basecamp, and would pair well with Bambi and Caravelle models.
Based on the performance of this Moon Awning it will be going on the truck as part of our standard pack-out provided there’s room.
