The Hollywood Short and Sweet Theater Festival Gala. Won Crew’s Choice for Best Monologue.

Brought my mom tonight (wore the ring I had made of some of her ashes). She was a big part of this story, much more than her quote that became the title…

She was a big part of my life story, as all mothers are. As I’ve said before, the love between us was complicated and real. Tonight, I finally invited her along for the ride in my heart and spirit. I think she would have been proud.

We’ve been invited to do one more performance of this iteration of the story… stay tuned… ✨💐

“V” is for “Victory” …
The Victory Theater Center, home of the Hollywood Short and Sweet Theater Festival…
and the victory of making it to Sunday night’s semifinals along with so many other amazing plays.

We did not advance to the finals next week. But my victory began when I decided to submit my play, and was then blessed with the supreme talents of director Jason Hayes, actor Michelle Merring, and my co-producer (who is also my beloved husband). Together, we revised it and rehearsed it until it became what it was tonight.

Deep gratitude to everyone who came out to see it, and who has encouraged and supported me from afar.

And *our* victory breathes on beyond this festival. This story is not over—*my* story is not over.

I have a memoir to finish writing…

The Short and Sweet Producers encouraged me to expand this play and submit it to The Hollywood Fringe…

Another participant has invited us to perform it again next month in a private setting…

I have ideas for a film…

So stay tuned. The Insanity of Color has only just begun. ✨
