Behind the Photo: today’s breakdown is about my gallery featured photograph “Brooklyn Summers”, taken August 2023 right here in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn.
I saw the image in my mind before I shot it, with the fire hydrant being the centerpiece of the photo.. but I knew it wasn’t complete. There was a kid racing behind me back and forth on his scooter. His mom wanted him to stop so he wouldn’t interrupt my photo, but little did she know, that’s what I NEEDED for the photo. Once I told the kid to come by, he went 100mph and I snapped the photo with perfect timing. Divine timing rather.
