Spoke Circles

To honor our lived experiences during the pandemic, Spoke would like to offer you the space to reflect on the past and to bring forward what supports you in dreaming and intention setting for the future. We will be partnering with , national employee-owned art supply store.
The last year 2 years…have been a whirlwind of intensity, adjustment, coping, chaos, numbness, joy, loss, excitement, fear…We’ve managed to push through, but there have been relatively few opportunities for real reflection. When we’re searching for something to jog our memories about an experience or a moment in time, we often resort to scrolling through the photographs on our phones. Inevitably, we find images of forgotten moments or find ourselves smiling, laughing, or crying as the visceral experience of that time and place comes rushing back.
Spoke would like to offer you the creative environment to get those images out of your phone and integrated into your mind and life. A space to process and reflect on the past months, and to make meaning of your experiences while looking forward to the year ahead. A space to sort through what lessons and moments you’d like to carry with you as you move into a new period of your life and how they inform the dreams you have for the days to come. Join us for an afternoon of crafting and reflection. You will leave with a scrapbook created by you in community with others, allowing you to move from the cloud to the page and to engage with your memories and dreams in a tactile way.

We come to feel safe in relationships through the process of rupturing and then repairing. If we avoid conflict, we also avoid the potential of feeling cared for and loved after a fight. We develop new grooves in our brain when we express our madness and feel accepted in the aftermath. This is how we heal: rupture and repair, over and over again.

Join us for a 4-session biweekly in-person circle series led by , LCSW, recovered anorexic and social and cultural analyst: Nourishment: Food, Hunger and Body Image.
This series will kick off on 1/24 and this circle will likely sell out very quickly, as space is limited for socially distanced cushions!
Appetite is defined as a natural desire to satisfy a bodily need. So then what makes our relationship to it so complex and loaded? What happens for us as we feel our hunger, for both food and our soul desires, that can be so terrifying or threatening? What would it be like to give ourselves permission to be fully in our bodies and trust them to guide us toward what we want and need? Join this 4-session biweekly series to begin to map out your journey to fullness and develop more empowering relationships with food and your body.
