It’s true.. skincare can actually go beyond skin deep. And for me it has.

I changed my career completely this year and started what I have dreamt about since I was 18 as a student at . And ironically, it is my career as a skincare entrepreneur that got me here. Just when started growing fast, the pandemic hit and while sales were hot (face masking at home was a thing…) the school we supported needed help. It started with tech assistance and building online curriculum for zoom learning and grew to mentoring their valedictorian and helping her aim high for college. Her 20 acceptances was a sign that I needed to do more. So, I started Gotham Scholars, an education non-profit supporting low income, high potential NYC high school students to gain access and ensure success in college. Since Nateesha, we now have a cohort of 6 high potential high school students from - a school with predominantly low income first gen families in Brooklyn, a dedicated staff of teachers and mentors to support our students, a year round academic, college access and leadership program and a plan to bring equity to the college classroom, cultivate the next set of change agents, and make space for students that deserve a seat at the table.
