Meet Plankton: the most high-tech tool in our shop.

It’s a piece of paper. And it just exposed a ceramic coating high spot that was completely invisible two seconds ago.

Here’s the thing — high spots happen when a coating goes on too fast, in the wrong conditions. Too hot, no climate control, and it flashes before anyone can level it. Once it cures, it’s baked into the paint until someone machines it back off.

That’s why we coat in a climate-controlled bay and check every panel with plankton before you ever see the car. Done right the first time.

Why are we removing the vinyl wrap on this Maserati GranTurismo?

The wrap has been on for a while, and over time it started to lose that deep gloss the car deserves. The owner wanted to bring the original black metallic paint back to life — and after removing the wrap from the trunk, we already got a preview of what’s underneath.

We’re also removing the partial front-end PPF because the visible line across the hood takes away from the clean, seamless look.

Once everything is removed, this GranTurismo is getting:

Two-step paint correction
Full front paint protection film with wrapped edges
Ceramic coating for gloss, protection, and easier maintenance

When it’s finished, this is going to look like a completely different car.
