Huge thank you to Lea Anne Paskavalich at Next Steps Neurodiversity Expo in Castle Rock for putting together another incredible event yesterday.

The conversations at that booth reminded me why we are building NixIt. Parents who are exhausted from juggling 12 apps that were not built for their kids' brains. Young adults who aged out of school support and got handed nothing. Families looking for something that actually works the way their brains do.

Two people believed in what we are building enough to sign up on the spot! Before we have a marketing team. Before we have a polished onboarding. Before we have any of the things you are "supposed" to have.

That kind of trust from this community is not something I take lightly.

Next Steps Neurodiversity

I didn't build NixIt because I saw a market opportunity. I built it because I was drowning.

Four neurodivergent kids. A neurodivergent brain of my own. And a support system held together with sticky notes, text reminders, and sheer stubbornness.

Every parent in this community knows the feeling: you ARE the system. The coordinator, the advocate, the translator between your kid and the twelve professionals who each have one piece of the puzzle.

NixIt AI is what I wished existed ten years ago. An AI companion that texts with your person, helps them manage their energy (not just their tasks), and lets families coordinate without surveillance.

We want our kids to thrive out in the world. But what kind of world have we handed them?

This week I tried to fix a wrong shipping address with Amazon. Should be a 2-minute task right?

Instead it took an hour across two days. The chatbot was sweet but useless. The live agent sent my order to my mother-in-law across the country. I couldn't find a phone number anywhere on their site.

I finally got it resolved by using ChatGPT to find a phone number Amazon wouldn't give me.

This is a trillion-dollar company. And I needed a completely separate AI just to escape their customer service maze.

Thirty years ago, you walked into a store, talked to a person, and walked out with your problem solved. Now we have all the technology in the world and somehow it's harder to get help than ever.

Our kids are walking into this. The ones who need a little more time to process. The ones who lose the thread when they have to explain the same problem four times. The ones who shut down when a system is designed to exhaust you into giving up.

We have to do better. We have the tools. We just keep building them for efficiency instead of for people.

That's what we're trying to do differently at NixIt. Put the human back at the center. Give people the keys to their own autonomy instead of another maze to navigate.
