What makes for a lasting foundation? According to Scripture, one's life is foundational grounded in founded in God. Jesus is the rock, and a house (life) built on the rock stands firm. A life built on Jesus, blessings flow. And talk about lasting, it can be abundant now and is forever eternal.
Jesus tells us everything we need to know about loving our neighbor - telling stories, through teaching, through doing... seems to me that 'loving our neighbor' involves more than desiring and feeling love toward your neighbor.
