A kidney for Sam

Hello Donor:
I’m Samantha but I go by Rain, and it’s now time for us to meet face-to-face because my kidneys are no longer able to sustain my life. I’m anxious to learn about you, to see you….to thank you. I have been wondering how to ask you to donate your kidney to me, and as it turns out, I'm pretty nervous. So no matter what happens now, please know that my life thus far has been filled

with happiness. I found out i had kidney failure at the age of 18, had just graduated high school(2009) and was so confused about the whole dialysis and transplant thing. I have been diagnosed with Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Like so many, I had to begin treatment known as dialysis 3 times a week. It wore me out to the point where i had to temporarily drop out of college. It wasn't until 2011 when I recieved a kidney transplant from a family member. Life was better after no complications or anything! In the beginning of 2014 my kidney had rejected. Since then I have been working with my kidney doctor to be placed on the transplant list at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati Ohio. Life is still good just with a little more things going on! During the time I had a working transplanted kidney, I started college again and traveled a lot more than what i was allowed to do on dialysis! What did I go to school for? I went to school at the Art Institute of Ohio-Cincinnati for my bachelors degree in media arts and animation.I will be a full blown animator like my idol Hayao Miyazaki! I hope that I am able to be just as great at the craft as he was! A little more about my life now. I have an older brother on my moms side and 4 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. In my free time I love to draw, play piano (i'm still learning) hang out with friends shop and my favorite, Cosplay! I love going to anime conventions when I can seeing old friends and meet new ones. At home I have 1 dog Lollipop and 3 Cats Hoshiko, Bella, and Eevee. Yes i have my own little zoo lol. I used to work at old navy which i loved doing, everyone was pretty cool there. i am originally from Boston MA but moved to Dillsburg PA at the age of 6 and lived there till the age of 16. Then we moved to Piccayune MS for less than a year. After that I moved to Florence Ky and have been here since 2008. The time i was in Mississippi we adopted our dog Casey from the local shelter and from that day i was a frequent volunteer there until we moved. I really like animals as much as i love to draw. Usually when people see me at school, Im listening or watching K-pop music as im working on my projects and when im working on some art at home.I enjoy movies, anime and reading. My favorite hobby is swimming. I really love ameusment parks. Another hobby i have is dying my hair funky colors and i have done any color under the sun. I have a huge interest in the Asian culture and would someday LOVE to visit Japan and South Korea
