🍴 Foodie Guide to Phi Phi Island — Christmas 2024 Edition 🌴🎄

Phi Phi Island may be tiny, but the food scene goes way harder than you’d expect. Between beachside stalls, halal comfort food, and cafés blending fruit fresher than anything back home, eating here became its own adventure.

Here’s what stood out:

🍜 Thai Duck Noodle Soup Spot
This place hits the spot after a long beach day.

Papaya Salad with Shrimp — bright, spicy, and super fresh.

Seafood Pad Thai — classic island vibes with generous seafood.

Thai Beef Noodle Soup — rich broth, super comforting.

Red Curry Soup — bold flavors with a nice kick.

Tom Kha (Thai Coconut Soup) — creamy, fragrant, and honestly one of my favorites.

🥞 Banana Roti Stand
The late-night treat you cannot skip.

Banana & Nutella — warm, gooey, and addictive.

Banana & Vanilla Milk — surprisingly good and not overly sweet.

🍹 Cut Tea Leaves Cafe
Perfect for cooling off between stops.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie — refreshing and not too heavy.

Mango Coconut Milk — tropical perfection.

Honey Lemon Green Tea — light, citrusy, and great for walking around.

🍽️ Fada Plaza Halal Food
Comfort food with big portions and bold flavors.

Panaeng Soup — creamy, spicy, and packed with flavor.

Stir-Fry Flat Noodles — simple but so satisfying.

Wings & Coconut Shrimp — crispy, sweet, and a must-order.

Rice with Fried Eggs — the perfect side to everything.

If you’re headed to Phi Phi, come hungry—this island makes it easy to eat well from morning till late night. 🌞🍽️

⭐ O Velho Eurico has been blowing up my feed, so of course I had to see if it lives up to the hype… Spoiler: it does.
Made our reservation a month out (worth it!). Tiny, buzzy, packed, and already running a waitlist — peak Lisbon energy.

✨ Our lineup:
1️⃣ Lamb with Chestnut
2️⃣ Beef Shank Sando
3️⃣ Codfish Without Cream
4️⃣ Squid with Orange
5️⃣ Cuttlefish Inked Stew
6️⃣ Fries + “Francesinha” Sauce

Let’s talk about flavors 👇

🔥 Lamb with Chestnut — fall-apart tender, juicy, cozy… basically a warm hug on a plate.
🔥 Beef Shank Sando — pure, glorious chaos. Drippy, messy, ridiculously flavorful. A must-order.
🔥 Codfish Without Cream — flaky, delicate, soaking up all that seasoned goodness.
🔥 Squid with Orange — lowkey the star. Smoky, perfectly chewy, with a bright citrus pop.
🔥 Cuttlefish Inked Stew — tasty but bean-heavy; the cuttlefish itself was super fresh.
🔥 Fries + Francesinha Sauce — crispy perfection dipped in that rich, savory, slightly spicy sauce. Dangerously easy to inhale.

If Lisbon is on your radar → book this spot early. Your taste buds will thank you. 😮‍💨✨

⭐ Jozour Cafe — Braintree, MA

The South Shore finally has a coffee spot worth talking about, and Jozour Cafe is already making waves with its viral matcha drinks.

We swung by to see if it lived up to the hype — and honestly, it did.

🥤 Matcha Latte
Smooth, earthy, and not overly sweet. You get that fresh, slightly grassy flavor that tells you the matcha is high quality. Super balanced and extremely easy to sip.

☕ Tiramisu Latte
A true dessert-in-a-cup moment. The espresso comes through nicely with a creamy, tiramisu-like sweetness that isn’t heavy or overpowering. Think classic tiramisu… but perfectly drinkable.

No more Boston trips for good matcha — the South Shore finally has a spot that gets it right.

⭐️ Things To Do at the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), Chiang Rai 🇹🇭

The White Temple is one of Thailand’s most unique and visually striking landmarks — designed by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, it blends traditional Buddhist symbolism with modern art and intricate mirror details.

Here are a few things you shouldn’t miss when visiting 👇

1️⃣ Rent a Traditional Thai Outfit (Hanbok-Style Experience)
Right outside the temple, you’ll find several rental shops offering traditional Thai outfits for both men and women (about 100–200 THB). Wearing one adds a cultural touch to your visit and makes for beautiful, respectful photos around the temple grounds. Most shops also help you style and accessorize before entering.

2️⃣ Walk Across the Bridge of the Cycle of Rebirth
This is the temple’s main walkway, symbolizing the path from temptation toward enlightenment. Take time to appreciate the details — everything has meaning here.

3️⃣ Explore the Art Gallery & Exhibition Hall
After the main temple, visit the small museum dedicated to Chalermchai’s artwork. It’s a great place to understand the artist’s vision and the symbolism behind Wat Rong Khun.

4️⃣ Enjoy Local Snacks & Thai Iced Tea Nearby
After your visit, grab a Thai iced tea or coconut ice cream from one of the cafes or stalls near the entrance. The area also has souvenir shops selling handmade crafts.

💡Travel Tips:

Visit early morning (8–9 AM) to avoid crowds and get the best lighting for photos.

Dress modestly — shoulders and knees should be covered, even if you rent a Thai outfit.

Entrance Fee: 100 THB (foreign visitors)

📍Location: Wat Rong Khun, Chiang Rai, Thailand
🕐 Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
