Hear You Rise Foundation recognizes Global Accessibility Awareness Day — a day that reminds the world that accessibility is not optional. It’s a right.

Accessibility is more than ramps, captions, or devices.
It’s belonging. Opportunity. Dignity. Independence.
It’s the difference between being included in the room or being left outside of it.

Today, we honor:

Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals

People with disabilities across all communities

Families, educators, interpreters, and allies

Workplaces, schools, and teams committed to access

Innovators building technology that opens doors instead of closing them

At Hear You Rise Foundation, accessibility is the heart of our mission.
We work every day to expand communication access, increase visibility, and ensure that every person — child, teen, or adult — has the tools and support to rise with confidence.

Accessibility is not a favor. It’s a foundation for equity.
And when we build with accessibility in mind, everyone rises.

Deaf Awareness Week: Advancing Access, Equity, and Inclusion

As we recognize Deaf Awareness Week, we reaffirm a simple truth: accessibility is not an accommodation — it is a standard every community, workplace, and institution must uphold.

This week highlights the experiences, contributions, and leadership of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals across every sector. It is also a reminder that meaningful inclusion requires intentional action:

• Ensuring communication access in all environments
• Expanding awareness of Deaf culture and identity
• Strengthening policies that protect equal opportunity
• Building spaces where participation is not conditional, but guaranteed

For organizations, this is an opportunity to evaluate how access shows up in hiring, customer experience, public events, and internal culture. For communities, it is a chance to listen, learn, and elevate voices that too often go unheard.

When we commit to accessibility, we don’t just remove barriers — we unlock potential.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

At Hear You Rise Foundation, we recognize that mental health and communication access go hand in hand. For many Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, everyday barriers can impact emotional well‑being — and no one should face that alone.

This month, we stand for support, connection, and community.
Your mental health matters. You matter.

National Speech‑Language‑Hearing Month (May)
May is National Speech‑Language‑Hearing Month — a time to champion communication access, early intervention, and the professionals who support individuals across the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

At Hear You Rise Foundation, we believe communication is a human right.
This month, we honor:
• Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals whose stories, strength, and resilience drive our mission
• Speech‑language pathologists and audiologists who provide life‑changing support
• Families, educators, and allies working to build more inclusive spaces
• Early detection and accessible communication tools that open doors for every age

From classrooms to sports arenas to workplaces across Massachusetts and beyond — we’re committed to expanding visibility, access, and empowerment.

Together, we rise. Together, we communicate. Together, we build a world where every voice is heard.
