FDA Launches Process to Weigh Making Sesame the Top 9th Allergen

At Allergy-Approved, we work with restaurants to ensure menu options that are free of the top NINE allergens (top 8 + sesame). We hope the FDA will follow suit.

Sesame is one of the fastest-growing food allergies in the United States. According to a 2010 survey, at least hundreds of thousands American are allergic to the flowering seed. Food Allergy Research & Education recognizes sesame as a top allergen, as does the UK Food Standards Agency.
