For 24 years, thousands of educators were denied access to RetirementPlus through no fault of their own. Today, the Senate took action to finally right that wrong. Proud to see my RetirementPlus legislation pass and move one step closer to ensuring the teachers and school nurses who dedicated their careers to our communities can retire with the dignity, fairness, and security they deserve.

Big congratulations to Spark FM and the one and only Hot Sauce on 6 years and counting of impactful radio and community leadership! It was an honor to have you in Senate session with us last week.

For six years, Danielle has used her platform to amplify underserved voices, uplift Boston’s urban and Caribbean communities, and create a trusted space for culture, music, connection, and empowerment. Her consistency, passion, and dedication to community-centered media continue to inspire so many across the city and beyond.

Thank you for all the hard work, the late nights, the powerful conversations, and the love you pour into every show. Boston is better because of it.

Proud to bring home extensive investments in neighborhoods across the Second Suffolk District in the Senate’s FY27 budget.

These amendments support youth programs, arts and culture, workforce development, scholarships, housing, healthcare access, and community-based organizations doing the work every day.

Grateful to our advocates, organizers, and community leaders who fought alongside us to make these investments possible. 💜

We’re fighting for the equitable investments our community deserves. Stay tuned - more updates to come as we wrap up this important week.

Today, we recognized Commissioner Rodney Marshall on the Massachusetts Senate floor for his historic appointment as the first Black Commissioner of the Boston Fire Department in the department’s nearly 350-year history.

With more than 35 years of service to the City of Boston, Commissioner Marshall’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to public safety continue to inspire communities across the Commonwealth.

It was an honor to present Commissioner Marshall with an official Massachusetts Senate citation and welcome him to sign the historic Senate guest book

Congratulations Commissioner Marshall on this well-deserved recognition and thank you for your continued service to Boston. 🚒🔥
