We’re so close to entering a new year at Simmons and welcoming in a new Honors class! But first, we want to take a look back at the spectacular work of HON 190 students this spring semester. Every honors student takes 190 and spends the semester developing a speech on whatever topic they can dream of. A select few usually get to present their speeches at the Undergraduate Symposium in late April.... but this year, 25 amazing speeches were recorded and shared on the Simmons University YouTube channel. The link is in our bio, and we hope you find something to watch or something that inspires you in your own Honors journey! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9J_5cnIN2Z-jsd6l6nQTOVed28TVDdsK

Tomorrow at 12 noon, see Kalei Porter, Class of 2020, deliver her keynote at the Undergraduate Symposium. Kalei is an honors student and got to go abroad as an Honors Global Scholar, which inspired this project: “We Are All Alive: Understanding Connections between People and Coral Reefs in Samoa”. Congratulations Kalei!

We also invite you to watch the panels with other Honors students in the afternoon. At 4pm, Sunnie Hodge and Anna Zhang will be on a panel about Health Equity. At 5pm, Jordan Ziese and Madeline Short are on a panel about Public Humanities. Enjoy the Symposium and celebrate all your hard work this semester!
