The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 represents the pinnacle of American sports car engineering, first introduced in 1970 as a high-performance variant of the C3 Corvette. After a long hiatus, the ZR1 nameplate returned in 1990 with the C4 generation, featuring an all-aluminum LT5 engine developed in partnership with Lotus that produced 375 horsepower. The ZR1 disappeared again until 2009, when the C6 ZR1 emerged as a supercar killer with a supercharged LS9 V8 generating 638 horsepower. The current C8 ZR1, launched in 2023, continues this legacy with a twin-turbocharged LT7 V8 producing over 1,000 horsepower, making it the most powerful production Corvette ever built. See them all at the 2025 Corvettes at Carlisle Chip's Choice display as we celebrate the history and the future of this raw American V8 power with cutting-edge technology and track-focused engineering.
