Me running from my responsibilities for a long weekend 😅

Seriously though, I just want to let you all know that I'll be out of office until Monday to enjoy some New Hampshire foliage and make some sweet memories with my kiddos and their grandparents. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy Independence Day—the truth is that freedom is something we all have to constantly fight for. Thank you to all those continuing the fight, whether through advocacy, financial contributions toward organizations fighting for freedom, or military duty.

I need to be honest for a second. I can and do get beautiful images that are full of life and personality at every session. BUT—some sessions are smoother than others. This session was easy, despite three tired children who were a bit off schedule.

Why? I think 90% of it is the fact that the parents trusted me and allowed their kids to just "be." Let them be silly. Let them be loud. Let them be wild. Let them run. Let them jump up and down. My hardest sessions are the sessions in which the parents are chiding their children or nagging them to look or smile at the camera.

It's not that I don't work to (and usually succeed at) get the posed "smile at the camera" image, because I do. It's that the best and most natural images come from children who are free to have fun. My sessions aren't a free-for-all, although it can feel like it. They're painstakingly shaped around the needs of your children so that we can get the genuine smiles, snuggles, and moments that you'll treasure forever.
