Scammers are actively posing as members of the Meridian Police Department. We've had several reports of Meridian residents receiving phone calls from a "Lieutenant Dance" or "Captain Stokes". The scammers threaten victims by telling them they will be arrested if they do not comply with demands. Please remember we will never call you on the phone asking for money (gift cards) or threaten to arrest you. If you receive a suspicious call, please hang up and verify by calling our office at 208-888-6678 or dispatch at 208-377-6790.
