Acting. A death-defying leap into vulnerability, truth, nakedness. I’m mesmerized by great acting. It makes writing look safe, which it most certainly is not. So many memorable performances in this 3-minute reel, a mere drop in the ocean of acting turns worthy of our tears, laughter and applause. It jumps off with a wonderful speech by Orson Welles that begins: “Acting is like sculpture, it’s what you take away from yourself to reveal the truth of what you’re doing that makes a performance.” I tip my hat to those courageous enough to chip away in pursuit of those magical moments.

Oh Maya Angelou, truer words... our inner and outer worlds, our feeling space, are reflections of the quality of our connectedness with those around us - the kindness we mine on our hardest days, the deep listening and care we invest in every interaction, the way we sit with people sits with them for eternity.
