BIG fire out here today. We were in town doing a classroom session. 8000+ acres burned Apparently a truck pulling a boat crashed or caught fire on Interstate 84 about 3 mikes North East of us. The 60-foot wide firebreak around the ranges stopped the fire dead in its tracks, for the most part. The fire got onto our property on the north west corner and burned about 40 acres, but that area has nothing but old growth sage brush. We have to replace a gate and large posts that were taken out by a BLM bulldozer, but other than that we’re good. It actually cleaned out some areas that I needed to clean out anyway. Total damage (gate and posts) about $500 Check out the pics below - how it burned right up to our fenceline and was stopped by the firebreak. Thank you Lord!!! Now we’re are pretty much fireproof for awhile.

RANGE CLEAN-UP DAY! Sunday, April 13th!
We will be having our annual range clean-up day this Sunday, April 13th from 10:00 AM to 2 PM. Totalkt voluntary - but we sure donapprwciatebthe help! We will be pulling weeds, sweeping, picking up brass and garbage and emptying burn barrels. Any help is always appreciated! Karen and I always have a great day when we do this - seeing some of the range members whom we otherwise rarely see! Come on out! It should be a fun day.
