Make It Megs

Make It Megs made special this year and officially started their own line of and so much more and we’re so thankful to have been a part of the wonderful community and in Boca Raton. We’re always beyond happy to fill any need or want for any occasion, but this year is one to remember. Thank you all for your support!!

May is Lupus awareness month. Our color is purple and our symbol of hope is a butterfly- a cutesy way of representing our characteristic butterfly rash… which actually isn’t so cutesy. It burns, it burns so badly that you ice your face and try anything to take that pain away.

It’s a ridiculously hard autoimmune disease to diagnose, because by the time you are (average time to diagnosis is 6 years, if you’re lucky)… most people just think that you’re dramatic, or faking it, a flake, and then you start believing them too. You see doctors, so many doctors, and they usually don’t believe you either.

When you finally do get diagnosed… you end up being diagnosed with many other autoimmune diseases, a lot of these go hand in hand. It’s hard, it’s tiring, it’s a true fight.

So in May, we celebrate that we’re lupus warriors and fighters and we hope that if we educate more people and speak out loud about our diseases, more research will be done and we will get more than JUST TWO dedicated drugs to lupus.
