Did you know that “Ganzfeld” is a German word used to describe the phenomenon of the total loss of depth perception? In @jamesturrell ’s exhibit, the vibrancy and saturation of the light greatly affects the perception of space and causes an override of the rods and cones within the eye. The diffused light slowly transitions across the color spectrum, occasionally creating an inability to recognize the proper depth of the room surrounding you.
