Boca Raton Club Bridge (Camino Real bridge) 1956 vs present. Finished in 1939 the bridge is an unusual type - double-leaf, rolling lift bridge. Now 83 years old bridge had been scheduled for demolition and replacement in the past due to being structurally deficient, but because its historic nature it can't be replaced, only renovated, and is still in use today. Estimated cost for a brand new drawbridge at the time was $43.8M and there also was an estimate for building an underwater tunnel, which would have cost $384M. It's the only bridge in the PB county that is allowed to open 3 times an hour.
