: Families deserve the opportunity to choose a school that helps their children grow both academically and spiritually.
That’s exactly what school choice policies are making possible across the country—and Catholic schools are seeing the impact. In states with strong school choice programs, enrollment is climbing, proving that when parents are empowered, Catholic education flourishes.

Catholic schools work tirelessly to grow enrollment. Financial aid is available, donor dollars are generous, and new choice programs are opening doors.
So why do some families still miss out?
Because aid alone isn’t enough. Strategy matters.
Financial aid should be more than a line in the budget—it should be an enrollment tool that helps more families experience the gift of Catholic education.

The Missing Link Between Finanical Aid and Catholic School Enrollment The problem isn’t always the amount of financial aid available—it’s the way it connects (or fails to connect) to the families who need it most. Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) aren’t just financial tools — they’re mission tools.
When aligned with Catholic identity, compliance, and family needs, SGOs do more than fund tuition. They strengthen schools, preserve mission, and expand access to Catholic education.
At Reficio, that’s exactly our focus: making sure SGOs serve the Gospel, not just the bottom line.

North Carolina’s General Assembly has passed House Bill 87, the Educational Choice for Children Act, making the state the first in the nation to move forward with the new federal tax-credit school-choice program. The bill now heads to Gov. Josh Stein, who is expected to veto it.
This move builds on the Tarheel state's long and rich history of school choice—from Opportunity Scholarships to the ESA+program—continuing a tradition of expanding educational options for families across the state.

The school choice movement is gaining steam across the country, but millions of families are still waiting. That’s why the Educational Choice for Children Act is a game-changer.
This federal tax-credit scholarship bill would unlock educational opportunity in every state, even in places where private school choice policies don’t yet exist. Families could access up to $10 billion in privately funded scholarships, made possible through tax-credit donations.
But here’s the key: this only works if states have a compliant Scholarship Granting Organization.
That’s where Reficio comes in.
✅ Built for Catholic schools
✅ Fully ECCA-compliant
✅ Focused on long-term sustainability and access
The future of Catholic education isn’t limited by geography. Let’s make sure no school and no family is left out.

Senator Rick Scott saw firsthand how expanding school choice transformed lives in Florida. Now, he’s urging governors across the country to opt in to the ECCA. This new federal tax credit scholarship program could put private education within reach for millions of families.
But here’s the catch: states need a compliant SGO to access those dollars.
That’s where Reficio comes in.
We’re not just checking the boxes; we’re building the infrastructure Catholic schools need to claim their seat at the table.

"..with the opt-in language, the governor gets to make that decision in most states. And we have 23 states that have governors that probably will not opt into this bill. That’s about 53% of Americans who will actually not enjoy school choice yet. And some very large Catholic populations — the archdioceses of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago — will likely not get to participate.”
Still, “for likely 27 states, this is going to be more school choice for their families. It’s going to be additional money to go to Catholic schools. But we have a long way to go before we have something called national school choice.” - Shawn Peterson, Catholic Education Partners
