In one pastoralist community in Ethiopia, children recently saw zebras for the first time.

For generations, pastoralists have managed Africa's grasslands through mobility, local knowledge, and careful stewardship. But climate change, land degradation, and increasing pressure on natural resources have put both livelihoods and ecosystems at risk.
Today, communities using regenerative grazing approaches through AfriScout are restoring degraded rangelands at scale. Independent results show improved pasture conditions, healthier herds, and landscapes beginning to recover. As the grasslands return, wildlife is returning too. Communities report seeing zebras, gazelles, oryx, and predators in areas where they had been absent for generations.
When pastoralists succeed, families and herds benefit, and entire ecosystems come back to life.
