This humble little space is our Soap House.

Tucked in the woods of Maine, it’s where ideas continue to grow, scents are blended, batches come to life, and your orders are carefully prepared.

first took shape in our kitchen, then grew into a dedicated workspace in the garage, before moving into the little Soap House we use today — tucked quietly in the Maine woods.

A humble space, still growing with us.

Ten years ago, Sébastien was digging a small pond in the garden in May, surrounded by Maine’s infamous black flies, and couldn’t find anything that truly worked.

At the time, Sébastien was working in Switzerland at a private clinic, where, among other responsibilities, he oversaw the direction of the clinic’s own cosmetics brand. So, quite naturally, the idea began to take shape: to create something simple, effective, and made with care. That first product became our Black Fly Repellent.

First made for ourselves, then shared with friends.
And slowly, quietly, Wayward Chickadee took flight.

Today, Wayward Chickadee offers a thoughtful collection of skin care essentials with modern formulas, rooted in plant-based and natural ingredients — along with our hand-poured candles. And the story keeps growing.

Between the ocean and the wide forests of Maine, Wayward Chickadee began 8 years ago. 🪹

Surrounded by nature, the inspiration was simple: to create plant-based care for everyday rituals, made with thoughtful ingredients, without unnecessary fillers, and with plastic-free packaging.

There have been years of research, testing, learning, trying again, small failures, quiet victories, and the deep joy of seeing these products become part of your homes and routines.

Eight years later, the passion is still here.
