RAINBOW STAR, glides out of the Appalachian foothills, where she tends her tiny house & homestead, in Berea, Kentucky. Swan is a powerful witch. She is often accused of birthing strange, beautiful (and sometimes offensive), gloriously healing sonic spells. In October 2020, Swan survived a preventative mastectomy, only to learn she had breast cancer (that was a close one!). Eighteen months and six
surgeries later, she came out on top, cancer free, and a wholly changed woman. Fairy muses emerge from the forest to gift Swan her songs and poetry, as they have from the age of seven. Swan writes on instinct, records her albums on her phone, and produces everything solo. She is available for performances, musician coaching, graphic design work for musicians, and hosts a sick podcast, Musings from the Rainbow Sparkle Palace. BORN OF NECESSITY
After a 13 year perfectionism-induced song-writing hiatus, Swan discovered the Appalachian mountain dulcimer, and a flood of songs (two records worth, in fact) poured forth. Having never had the patience to learn music theory beyond choir (all through grade school), Swan uses her witchy intuition to download songs from the ether, on ukulele, banjo, guitar, baritone ukulele, dulcimer, and a new addition, the harmonium. Hitting hard on topics from domestic violence, patriarchy, the 'quit your job' movement, witchcraft, and tales of romance, Swan's sonic spells have been said to heal many a heart. She hopes to move you to open your throat chakra and let whats inside of you shine. She hopes you hear her songs & fight for your truth, embrace your deepest self, and never look back.
