Latin-Inspired Coffee Shop Las Brujas Set to Open in Baton Rouge in February 2026
A new coffee concept is headed to Baton Rouge, but locals will have to wait a bit before lining up. Las Brujas is scheduled to open in February 2026, bringing Latin-inspired flavors and specialty coffee to the city’s growing café scene.
Las Brujas plans to offer a menu centered around thoughtfully crafted espresso drinks, unique flavor combinations, and house-made elements inspired by Latin culture. The concept aims to go beyond a standard coffee stop, creating a space that blends coffee, locally sourced groceries including meats, dairy and produce, in a warm, inviting setting.
Once it opens, Las Brujas is expected to offer locals another independently owned spot to gather, work, and enjoy a different take on the daily coffee routine.

Las Brujas is a small farm where members of four generations of the Villa family lived. David’s grandfather, aunt and David himself were born in the original farm house. Through the years many farm animals (horses, cows, goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits), gardens, fruit trees were kept in different parts of the farm. What was always there, under the shade of trees lining the pastures were established coffee bushes. Caretakers of the place would harvest, hull and dry the coffee beans to sell as small cash crop, a perk to their employment. David’s father remembers helping them through the process until the sisal sacks of dried coffee were filled to be taken down to sell in the small town.
