Tutor 4 Math And More

Different story but the same picture.

Last night, I was tutoring a student on trend lines. Turns out, she was fine with trend lines. She understood where to get the points and how to draw the line, but it was still a meaningful session.

The reason it was meaningful is we identified that she has difficulties knowing how to use the formulas for lines.

We also identified that she has difficulty combining positive and negative numbers.

We also identified that she has difficulty remembering formulas.

She also has difficulty using the slope formula.

So it turns out that if she had just looked and said wow, I know how to do trend lines and decided to not have a session she would’ve missed out on crucial instruction that is affecting her ability to be successful in her math class.
