Thank you to everyone who came out for **Kaboom** at Boomerang Comedy Theater! I think my set went well, and it felt so good to be back on the Boomerang stage.

After a couple of years performing improv there, Boomerang feels a little like home. I may have been trying something new, but I wasn’t nervous walking onto that stage. Mostly, I was excited to see what would happen.

Apparently, I’m doing stand-up now. 🎤💥

Society says women in their fifties are supposed to become invisible. We are no longer young, so apparently our relevance, attractiveness, and appetite for adventure should quietly fade into the woodwork.

Nah.

At 53, I started doing improv. At 55, I decided to try stand-up.

I had never dreamed of a career in comedy, though I loved theater in high school. I simply reached a point where fear seemed far less interesting than curiosity.

This is the day of my audacity.

I am done waiting to feel young enough, talented enough, attractive enough, or certain enough to take up space.

I will not go gently into the night, and I will not invisible myself into the treeline just because society has stopped imagining possibilities for women my age.

Society’s imagination is not my boundary.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be at **Festival Acadiens et Créoles, October 9–11!** 🎉

I’ll be bringing my artwork, books, and a small parade of strange little wonders. I’m so excited to be part of such a beloved Louisiana festival. Save the dates and come find me in Lafayette!
