Respect in a marriage looks like honoring one another as equals created by God, speaking with kindness, and valuing each other’s thoughts, feelings, and boundaries. It is shown through listening without belittling, choosing faithfulness in words and actions, and supporting one another’s God-given calling. In a Christ-centered marriage, respect reflects reverence for the Lord by treating your spouse with dignity, patience, and selfless love, even in moments of disagreement (Ephesians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:7).
