ipe Sargeant, Cliff Wells, and Pipe Corporal, Al Baker, all studied under former Pipe Major Paul Hazard. All three of them use Paul's incredible level of patience as a teaching method to keep new pipers motivated and successful. For bagpipe lessons, your only start up cost is for a chanter and lesson book. For drums, there is no cost for beginners. Later, both pipers and drummers need to buy a shirt or two and black shoes, but the rest of the uniform is provided by the Highlander Unit. Non-Shriner men as well as ladies may take lessons on bagpipe and drums and perform in most parades and events. We have instructed many pipers and drummers over the years and all of them were amazed at the wonderful fraternal organization we represent, Anah Shriners. Many subsequently joined the Masons and Shriners as a result. Piping and drumming is a wonderful way to increase the exposure of this honorable charity in our community and you will make many friends and have an AWESOME time.
