Ashburton, National Night Out is coming and we are doing it big this year!
Join us Tuesday, August 4 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Dorchester Road between Dennlyn Road and Ellamont Road for our neighborhood Fish Fry and block celebration.
Here is what we have in store:
Fish Fry, music, games, entertainment, a community walk, an ice cream social, and a special tribute to our Ashburton Veterans.
We are also giving away backpacks filled with school supplies for our students at Dr. Nathan A. Pitts-Ashburton Elementary/Middle School. Bring a filled backpack to donate if you can.
And here is the fun part - bring your specialty homemade dessert. Banana pudding, pound cake, pies, peach cobbler, you name it. Let's eat good together.

Watching this playground come together has been a reminder that lasting change happens when neighbors become partners and everyone contributes in their own way.

Today wasn't just about building a playground.
It was about building pride, creating opportunity, and showing our children what's possible when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

This is a day our neighborhood will remember for years to come.
Volunteers still need. NATHAN- Pitts Elementary and middle school is getting a new playground and need our help to do it. They are asking on behalf of State Senator Hayes who provided a great deal of the financing.
Saturday, July 11th will be the official playground build day, and this is the day we will need the greatest level of volunteer support from the community. We are encouraging residents, families, and community stakeholders to come out and lend a helping hand as we work together to create a safe and welcoming space for our children.
Kaboom uses a volunteer registration platform called Hands On Connect (HOC) to manage volunteer signups for our events. Volunteers will need to create an HOC account and sign up for the event in order to participate in build week.
