Painted boy creations

30 years ago I wrote angry poems about my Dad. I had to write them to get through alot of damage. It would be nice to say I am 100% better. It's not that easy. I have found strength in knowing who I was, and able to hug that little boy and tell him "I understand and forgive you. You are loved."
Tonight I will be sharing some new poetry. I share this one with you.

This is my father

On one side of the coin, semper fidelis,
On the other side, simply a man.
There is value in both sides.

My father’s story began as a marine.
A young man with dreams in his pocket and
a coin…on one side, sempre fi

always loyal, always faithful,
to the corp he served and to his family…
there is value on both sides

bound up in honor, duty, and sacrifice,
he was a man who carried this with him…
on one side of the coin, semper fidelis

always faithful, always loyal
to the corps and to the family…
there is value in both sides and

more than one side to every story:
My father was a simple man who tried
and the other side of the coin, semper fidelis…
There is value in both sides.
