On triggers:
"The way I coach may trigger you."
-- direct quote from me
Triggers aren't necessarily traumatic things. Triggers are indicators of excitement, triggers can indicate trauma too. Too often a trigger is understood as yelling or screaming, a "TRIGGERED"/traumatic response.
But bodily triggers that aren't causing intense trauma are there to show you where you need to focus more. Be it a negative reaction or a positive.
Noticing what TRIGGERS you is also noticing what interests you.
What intrigues you.
What ignites you.
And what needs extra attention or healing.
For example, if I were to get to know a clients goals and one of the goals is to sell art, then my follow up question might be:
Me: "do you have a consistent arts practice to maintain consistent sales? "
Them: " you jerk! I don't...I want people to buy my only one finished painting and then I could be wealthy, famous and respected nation wide! Why are you an as***le to point this out!"
Me: "It's time to understand this trigger and where it's coming from and why you may be avoiding consistency."
Any questions?
Things I do not do for my clients as a life coach (because they actually aren't coaching at all and if I did do these things I would lose my certification and respect in the coaching industry):
1. I'm not an accountant for you nor can I offer accounting advice.
2. I'm not a "ma********on coach" seriously guys please go away. I don't know what you're thinking or where you got this.
3. I'm not a personal assistant to artists, meaning I do not apply to shows or grants for you, nor do I find opportunities for you.
4. I do not connect you to collectors that I know, that's an agent or a gallery.
5. I do not purchase the art work of my clients, that's considered codependency with your coach.
6. I'm not a mentor for your career, I'm a coach for your career. There's a difference.
7. While I am trauma informed, there are certain things that are considered out of scope, the biggest triggers that are considered out of scope are su***de and addiction. Please go see a therapist for treatment/healing of that nature. Really, you deserve to love yourself and love your life.
8. I'm not a mind reader, you have to speak these things into or out of existence with your voice.
9. In all honesty a pep talk from me is the most amazing thing... But that's absolutely not the focus. The focus comes from you, I'm no people pleaser.
10. I am NOT here to diagnose you with a medical condition. Seriously, if something feels "off" like that go to a therapist and begin there.
And a quick guideline, if you are to ever book a session or discovery call...
Come fully clothed!
Not on drugs!
Not eating sandwiches or a full buffet!
Present and actually ready to address your patterns.
There's a decently long list of questions that you are vetted for even with discovery calls, answer those.
Stop chasing them and start choosing yourself.
Sometimes I have a client who is outside of the targeted artist identity.
They tend to be very conservative white guys who may have served in the military and in their own word are "looking to pull their heads out of their ass". It's the niche that gets the MOST transformation from my own artist, reiki, life coach vibe.
"I cannot express enough gratitude for Sarah's impact on my professional and personal growth. As a conservative thinker working in a very liberal organization, I initially struggled to find my place within the culture. I knew I needed guidance to navigate this dynamic while staying true to my core values. That’s when I found Sarah.
Sarah approached my situation with deep empathy, wisdom, and an incredible ability to bridge ideological differences. She didn’t try to change who I am—instead, she equipped me with invaluable tools to communicate effectively, build genuine relationships, and thrive in an environment that once felt foreign to me. Through carefully curated books, thought-provoking videos, and insightful meditation guides, she broadened my perspective in ways I never expected, all while ensuring I remained authentic to myself.
The transformation I’ve experienced is nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to Sarah, I no longer feel out of place—I feel empowered, confident, and deeply connected to my colleagues. She has a gift for fostering understanding and growth, and I am forever grateful for the wisdom she shared.
If you’re looking for someone who can help you navigate change, overcome challenges, and unlock your full potential, Sarah is the coach you need. She doesn’t just offer advice—she changes lives.
With Immense Appreciation,
K."
