Tom Miller week is back and we are grateful for your support over the past 5 years. This year we are focusing our attention on Miller's public works of art.

Paint is peeling.
Brick is exposed.
Art History is at risk.

Tom Miller’s first public mural in Baltimore is in critical condition—and we cannot afford to lose it!

Join us Wednesday, February 18 at 6 PM for a virtual Tom Miller Day gathering as we officially launch a phased restoration effort for However Far the Stream Flows, It Never Forgets Its Source (1991), located at North Avenue and Harford Road in Baltimore. MD.

For more than 30 years, this mural has stood as a reminder that no matter how far we travel, we must never forget who we are or where we come from. Today, weather, pollution, and time threaten its future. Now it’s our turn to show up for it.

During this free public event, we will share:

• The urgency behind the restoration
• The phased preservation plan
• How you can support through donations, advocacy, and community partnerships

This effort is led by Friends of Tom Miller and Blackives, LLC, with support from Brooks Media and Black Art Today Foundation.

RSVP on Eventbrite (link in bio).

Preserving the source is preserving his legacy.

Tom Miller Week is an annual, community-centered celebration honoring the life, work, and legacy of Tom Miller through public programs, storytelling, exhibitions, and preservation initiatives across Baltimore and beyond. The celebration was voted Best of Baltimore for Tradition by Baltimore Magazine in 2025.

My childhood dream was to become a veterinarian, but I guess I'll settle for snake charmer. 🐍♥️🧑🏾‍⚕️

From Afro Charities’ Spring Fundraiser to dancing under the stars at Garden Rooftop—and of course, my annual birthday crab feast—it’s safe to say I kicked off 39 in style!

Thank you to everyone who poured into me with love, laughs, and good vibes all weekend long. I truly feel the love from my family, friends, colleagues, and community.

And yes, I had to include last year’s group pic (that I forgot to post!) when we recreated Tom Miller’s Maryland Crab Feast screenprint.

Here’s to 39 and fine—and making the most of my final lap in this age bracket!
